Chris Newsam for Thirsk and Malton

23 FEB 2010

ANNOUNCEMENT from Chris Newsam:

"It is with regret that I have decided, after so agonising, to withdraw as a Green Party candidate at the forthcoming General Election for the constituency of Thirsk and Malton. This is due to on-going and as yet unresolved health issues which have developed this winter.

"As I cannot determine how long my illness will continue I feel that I cannot give the commitment necessary to run a successful and meaningful campaign. I am grateful for the offers of support and interest that I have received and am sorry if my withdrawal causes disappointment to any Green Party supporters."

We assure Chris of all our very best wishes.
